Support us

The English Project is capturing the imagination of English speakers across the globe. It’s an idea whose time has come.

But to turn our ideas into an even more thrilling reality needs money and time.

That’s why we are now asking for concrete support from those who want to see the English Project develop into a fully-fledged operation, based in Winchester but serving a global community.

So, can you help?

The English Project is a charity and we need your backing to make it happen.

We need donations and volunteers to help us reach our goals over the next weeks, months and years.

So if you are inspired by the vision of the English Project, now is the time to become involved.

Make a Donation Today

We are a new charity with very limited funds. We will use your gift wherever it will make the greatest difference, or you can ask for it to be used to support a specific project.

For example, £50 could help us research sources of funds, or contribute to the development of a new page on the website.

Or you could suggest a specific piece of research that interests you as a lover of the language.

Give on-line now through the Charities Aid Foundation

Become a Volunteer

We are actively encouraging people to become volunteers to help us with our work programme over the coming months. This might involve, for example:

  • Event planning and delivery
  • Keeping our website up-to-date
  • Giving talks
  • Simple bookkeeping and administration tasks
  • Fundraising
  • Adding a tag line to your e-mails recommending www.englishproject.org
  • Blogging
  • Tweeting
  • Joining the English Project Facebook Group

For practical reasons you may need to be able to attend meetings in Winchester to get involved in most of these activities (apart from blogging and tweeting!). So if you want to join us as a volunteer, please contact us.

Offer Ideas

There is no shortage of possibilities for how the English Project might develop. While we have some good ideas ourselves, we know that there are plenty of other interesting possibilities out there (probably one for every English speaker!).

So do write in with your suggestions.

Keep them short and we will bank them all.

Obviously we can’t guarantee to act on them (at least not immediately) but we will think about them, and there will certainly be a number which we feel we can take forward.

So if you have an idea for a new English Project venture then please contact us.
